Since 1993 GESO, a medium-sized company based in Jena, Germany, has been working on the development and application of fibre optic sensor technology. Using fibre optic Distributed Temperature Sensing technique (DTS) and Strain Sensing technique (e.g. FBG), GESO offers a wide range of high performance products for monitoring pipelines as well as underground storage facilities and wells, for detecting smouldering fires and for identifying the distribution of temperature in various engineering and environmental projects.
